I'm the founder and writer of SLOP.
Here's the story...
Grown tired of pretentious and over-the-top lifestyle brands such as Gwyneth Paltrow's goop, I created a satirical lifestyle blog in 2018 that essentially "Onion-izes" the wellness world.
The Onion + goop = SLOP (Sensible Living and Overpriced Products).
Today's unattainable beauty/travel/style/diet/zen
standards and their patronizing rhetoric should continue to be lampooned. (I say "continue" as I realize I'm not the first to attempt this concept.)
But also, SLOP is not that deep. Mostly, the content is absurd, relatable, gross, somewhat highbrow, and probably offensive.
